Smoothies are the perfect Summer food. They’re easy to make, portable when you’re on the go, healthy (most of the time) and they’re delicious! I love a healthy smoothie packed with nutrition, but sometimes, the popular recipes that we see circulating on social media are healthy, but hardly appetizing. While kale is no doubt a super-food, not everyone likes to eat it, let alone drink it.
This smoothie is one of my favorites! Not only is it packed with vitamins and protein, but it actually tastes like a smoothie should taste. I like to add a dash of cayenne pepper for a morning boost, but if that’s not your cup of tea, or you’re making this for your kids, go ahead and skip it:)
Strawberry Avocado Smoothie
1 cup strawberries (frozen)
1/2 avocado (pitted and peeled)
1 cups unsweetened almond milk (Sometimes I use vanilla almond milk for a treat)
1 tbsp of honey or agave nectar
1 dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
Directions
Blend all ingredients together and serve! If you’re making this for your family, simply double the recipe. This is a favorite of my kids and they’re a tough crowd to please. You can also use raspberries in place of strawberries or add a frozen banana for extra flavor! Enjoy!
